I don’t know about you, but with all the extra time spent in my house for quarantine this Spring, I looked around and saw all the projects I had put off when we were busier! There are a lot of small DIY projects that can be done around your home that will add instant value. Here are my top ideas:
Deep clean and declutter :: I am not talking Marie Kondo level, but a good deep cleaning including those often neglected baseboards or hard to reach air vents will make your home shine and make you more comfortable in your own home. Decluttering old home décor, clothes that no longer fit or toys that kids have outgrown will free up space and it’s proven to help decrease stress levels!
Painting the interior :: Updating your paint colors can make a BIG difference in your home overall. It’s important to take your time to do all the prep work and also buy a sample so you can see how the color looks in your home’s lighting. It’s a simple way to update your home.
Landscaping :: There are a few easy things can add great curb appeal to your home. Start by pressure washing the exterior and driveway. Pine straw or new mulch can make a big impact. And of course, no front porch would be complete without some seasonal flowers – just don’t forget to water them!
Light Fixtures :: Updating light fixtures can take your home from builder grade to custom in a few minutes. If you’re like me and not handy with electoral work, it’s a good idea to hire someone for this job!
Smart Home Technology :: Smart thermostats and doorbell cameras are gaining in popularity and are an easy upgrade to bring your home into the technology age!
If you complete these projects, your home will look amazing and you may realize it’s a great time to put it on the market! Here at The Peters Company, we would love the chance to work with you to sell your home. Give us a call at 678-921-1470!
