90 Days with The Peters Company

I officially joined the Peters Company on January 7th, 2019. It was one of the longest yet most unique interviews I ever experienced; however, I felt that I had a better understanding about the company mission and what was expected of me. That was just the beginning. Through my first 90 days on the job, I feel that I have learned so much more about what The Peters Company stands for and some important takeaways for life. Here are a few of them:


1)    Teamwork is a way of life. I played basketball from the time I was 5 years old all the way through college. I am well aware of how much more can get done when you work together as a team rather than as an individual. At the Peters Company, teamwork is displayed when someone is willing to step up when it is needed, no matter what the task. There are no ulterior motives or future costs involved, just good old fashion “You have my back, I have yours”.  While we each have our own individual task, clients and goals, everyone, from Real Estate Agents to Operations, has a genuine desire to help and do their part for the collective good of the company.


2)    Integrity is highly valued. C. S. Lewis said “Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching.” During my interview, Lesley made it clear that integrity was a huge part of the company. This is evident not just because the company has over 400 5 star reviews, but because each agent is committed to always work in the best interest of their client. As an inside sales agent, I have the privilege of connecting potential buyers and sellers with the right agent based upon their needs and location. The one thing that makes my job easy is that I know that whichever agent I connect to a potential client, they will handle the relationship with the utmost integrity.


3)    Someone is always laughing! It is nice to wake up and not dread going into the office. From Scott’s great acting skills, Uber voicemails and Pete Peters, there is always a reason to laugh. Yes, these are all inside jokes but the fact we have them at our company makes it even better. Now, don’t mistake our laughter to mean that we are slacking in any way. That is not the case. I am implying that the work environment that is established allows us to relax, focus clearly and enjoy what we do. I believe it is what helps our employees and our overall business to thrive.


4)    Family. It has been great getting to know everyone at The Peters Company. From day one, I felt like a part of the family. Each of them brought me in with open arms to help me adjust and be the best at my role. But it does not stop there, the more families we help buy and sell homes the more members we add to our family.
